Auto Union 1000SP is a sports car manu-factured by Auto Union, which was started in 1958. It was equipped with a 981cc two-stroke 3-cylinder engine that produced 54 horsepower. Between 1958 and 1965, 5000 coupes and 1640 convertibles were produced. In 1959, 50 models were produced with a 1280cm3 two-stroke V6 engines. The rear and taillights were inspired by the 1957 Ford Thunderbird, that is why some people refer to this car as the “Baby Thunderbird”.
